Reggae Research

This is to be presented as a slide show.
In pairs or by yourself, Research the following,

  1. Jamaica - Where is it in the world? What is the culture like? Food? Music? Etc
  2. The Jamaican Flag - what does it look like? What does the flag represent?
    The Jamaica Flag -
    Green,Black and Yellow Colors. It represents them about their Independence
  3. Day.
  4. Reggae - What is the history of Reggae? When did it become a cultural aspect of Jamaica?
  5. What are the key features of the music?
  6. Ska - What is Ska? and what are the similarities and differences between Ska and Reggae?
  7. Bob Marley - How did he become such an huge Reggae star? What is his story and history?
  8. Reggae around the world. How does Reggae look around the world?
  9. Find reggae artists that are successful in the Uk, Europe and US = Matumbi-UK. Europe-LMP.
  10. US- Bob Marley
  11. New Zealand Reggae - Who are our New Zealand artists that have been influenced by Reggae?
  12. Sons of Zion?
  13. Make a list of 10 Reggae songs and name the artist

  20. 7. Pressure Drop. Toots and the Maytals.
  21. 8. Cherry Oh Baby. Eric Donaldson.
  22. 9. I Shot the Sheriff. Bob Marley and The Wailers.
  23. 10. Is this Love. Bob Marley and The Wailers.
  24. You tube - Find two Reggae songs that you like and add the links to your slides. Explain why you like them in musical terms.
  25. Three little Birds = Because I like how chill and calm it sounds
  26. Buffalo Soldier = The beat is so relaxing
