Social Study = Inquiry Research Deforestation

For the last few weeks of schools, in social study, we were given the task to do inquiry research about the few topics we were given to explore and research about them.

This is the summarized version of what I did.

The acts of deforestation are slowly taking a huge chunk of trees on our planet,
Clearing out a huge amount of forests also affecting the animals that inhabit them such as monkeys that lose
their homes.  Another issue that came with this was the limited air we are getting recently as air provide carbon
dioxide for us to breathe. Nowadays there is only more than 30 percent of land covered in forests on our planet.
Along with natural phenomena occurring naturally with its devastating results which makes it worse.
Knowing that we lost lots of trees we also use the space that was originally forests to make our space for future
constructions along with the remaining resources to be converted into paper, fuel and other items that are made
from trees. If this even goes to an even more serious matter. The world would look a bit empty and brown
along with the less amount of air breathable to breathe. There are people and organizations helping the cause
of putting restrictions of cutting too many trees that the amount we replenish. So that later generations can still
experience what the world looked like.

English = Film

For 3 weeks. This is what my group has accomplished in the time we were given. There are still some parts of it that we wanted to add and try to make it funny but we didn't have time to do so.

Blog Post = Film 8

The final blog post for the project. This what we accomplished in the time we have been given. we managed to finish our video but we currently are having a technical difficulty about how to upload it into a blog. Along with finishing all of the other stuff I haven't finished.

English Recap

The project overall was fun and exciting as we were able to move around school and vlog knowing that we have the permission to do so. We managed to film our scenes in a reasonable amount of time and mostly I was the one who did the editing as none of my members don't really have that much experience in editing videos. In my point of view. I currently like how the project went out, as I enjoyed every aspect of it and had fun along with the fact that we had the privilege to film. Most of the time Rusi and Zapa only did their job in the filming part and then they left the editing part to me. In which it didn't really bother me as I liked editing, For the most part, I did enjoy it but there were challenges that really did give me a hard time like giving out some of my time at home to finish everything.

Blog Post = Film 6

for the last day, we plan to officially edit every last bit in the video to make it more amusing and alluring. We plan to correct the parts that were sort of left out

Tuesday, November 26, 2019

Blog Post = film 5

For today we plan to refilm the parts that are either not correct or if the footage is laggy. For the place, we decided to film the same spot we did the breakout space and scene we are trying to refilm is the part when the troublemaker gets the referral card.

End
We managed to refilm the parts we were not so impressed about and currently now we plan to add the sound effects that are needed for some parts

End.
We edited the few clips we had and now we plan to film the last three scenes tomorrow depending if zapa comes

Science Research Zodiac

Zodiac Constellations

Source From:
Paragraph 1
There were people who were guessing about the origins of the Zodiac Constellation. Until it was found out that it was made from peoples imaginations and thoughts. but scientific research now thinks that they were made to illustrate the scientific coordinate system. The coordinate system is a set of imaginary lines for measuring positions, like the lines of latitude and longitude for guess locations on the earth. The constellations perform a function that is close, but they added pictures, which make it easy to know stars without the need for equipment. However, this evidence points to a time and place that they originated: about 2700 B.C at about 36 ½ north latitude. It was possible to see by their connected dots on the sky that portrays their form.

Paragraph 2
The origins of the Zodiac Constellations were dated back In BC. The ancient Babylonians did 13 Zodiac instead of the 12 signs that match the 12 months in the calendar. There was one that wasn't included in the signs it was  Ophiucus pronounced O-few-cus. The reason why he was not included was not really clear as some argued about it being related to Earth's axis and how it does not point in the right direction as it once did. which affects the amount of Zodiac constellations is visible in the sky

Paragraph 3
The 13 constellations were named after what they looked like in the sky like how Saggitarius had an upper of a human than had a horse part in the lower section of him making him somewhat the mythical beings called centaurs or in some interpretations he is formed like an arrow and bow. But so far I think this is what they represent at the night in the sky.

  • Sini-gang [meat is Wagyu Beef]
  • Chicken Teriyaki
                Dessert
  • Halo-halo
  • Ube Cake

Food is a wonderful thing to have in your stomach. Many have their own preferences whilst others are different. Throughout eating food, mostly made from my ethnicity, Filipino. I decided to open up and try new foods that I have not had before like for example eating the type of food my friends normally eat . I'll be discussing my preferences in food and which are the most exquisite and delicious based on what how much I liked it. Leading to the creation of what my dream menu is going to be.

This is the right way I liked to eat my food. It starts with the weather and feel of the day. if it is rainy and cold I prefer to eat hot and is soup related like for example a Filipino traditional food like sini-gang [ it is mostly made with soup, vegetables and meat depending on what the person feel likes putting into it] sometimes I eat spring rolls or in my language its called lumpiang shanghai. It consists of mincemeat and mixed vegetables and it is then rolled into a cylinder shape. There are many more that I prefer on those days but the two examples were my somewhat top picks.

But when it is a sunny and warm day. I mostly prefer drinks that are made traditionally like for example ube drink-related [ it similar purple yam] and other more.  The main-courses I prefer in does days are wagyu beef. the beef is originally from a cow that has been processed in Japanese culture since it came from my dream to be culture I have a high standard of Japanese food. Another dish I have in mind is the chicken teriyaki. the chicken consists of Japanese style cooking but with the teriyaki wine/sauce. There are some of just my top picks of what I prefer to eat at that time and feel of the day. Overall this js just based on my opinion and what I prefer to eat.  There are still lots I want to explain but there are just way too much things to eat in the world.

Sustainability Issues

Air pollution

What causes the issue?
A sustainable issue in New Zealand is air pollution. Some are caused by the burning of fossil fuels and other toxic substances that are either visible or invisible that affect New Zealand. Along with gas emissions than cars. It makes the air that surrounds it as bad to breathe. Another issue that involves the gases that factories and industries produce. the surrounding vicinity around that building is affected by them.  Some that cause pollution are nature incidents like a storm that brings dust or other things has intoxicated substance in it

What is being done to solve this issue?
By the stopping the use of fossil fuels and others that cause harm to a much more sustainable resources. like using solar energy or wind energy to fuel a different type of cars. But due to the expensive of these cars, people may need to use fossil fuels. Some are resorting to the thought of carpooling people to their destination whilst they pay them for the ride so that it makes it less air polluted.

What else needs to be done to improve the issue?
in my point of view, I think

Environmental Sustainability

Picture

Paragraph 1

Being sustainable and cleaning the planet may seem as a hassle knowing their is a lot of people in the earth. The natural resources in the earth regrow, we humans and other living being use it for necessary needs or desires. But overusing them may lead them to be endangered or even extinct which in their regrowth rate is much more lower than the rate we collect from them. Also we need to have a fair sense of distributing things around so that one does not have more than the other. Climate changes and global warming are important things to consider as the environment of an animal or plant may go into a state of degradation in which it makes it harder for them to replenish.

Paragraph 2
Keeping the earth sustainable is vital to keep our species alive along with the other living being in it. I think that it also help people to think insightful of the future of whats going to happen if we weren't sustainable. For example, if we overused a specific species of animal to the point it cannot reproduce fast enough to balance our consumption. They wouldn't probably stay long and even the newer generations of people may not get to see or interact with them. Therefore this is why I think being sustainable is important and how it can affect everybody.

Picture hunting : English

What am I learning?
I am learning how to do picture hunting by including themes about that scene or photo.

Gymnastics = Term 3

The last few weeks we have been focused on gymnastics in PE. The skills that I already had when I started gymnastics were a forward roll, walking backwards on the beam, a back drop on the trampoline.

I have been improving at doing a bit of the ones I don't really do that much in gymnastics like doing a bridge, as the way I see it is complex and complicated. Although I don't have the right physical traits for doing trampoline I managed to do it by persevering and giving my best.

I would like to learn to do more next term 3, particularly on the trampoline. I find the trampoline exciting as it gives me the good vibes when I bounce off and on the air, it feels so refreshing and inspires me to do more despite other things hindering me like peer pressure from doing the same thing as everyone.

Character 2 : English = Coraline

HOPE
There was a scene when everything seems lost as Coraline's recklessness and due to the rats that hindered her which made her lost all of her progress and temporarily stopped from stopping the other mother. But at the least moment the moon that was about to be covered by the button suddenly stopped as the black cat somehow managed to get the last remaining stone from the rat the evaded Coraline, Giving Coraline the confidence and courage to face the other mother once more.

Why is it important to have hope? = my thoughts
so that it prevents you from feeling the following: gloomy, hopeless, despair and other things you feel at that stage in life, as it can hinder your immensely small or big. Stay positive and always be cheery.

CURIOSITY
In Coraline the film, a particular scene was perfectly fitting for the word curiosity, as Coraline is always curious about things and how it can useful for her which gives her advantages. For Instance we see this when she was given the 'looking stone' which helped her curiously find the three stones that were preventing  the ghost children from being free instead giving them endless suffering

What is important about Curiosity = my perspective
when questioning a lot of things can have its benefits for example you may learn something new instead of the usual thing people teach you, also it can provide huge benefits like getting jobs that gives you a reasonable amount and something you like to do.

STRANGENESS = My choice
The black cat through out the film from my point of view, seemed like he was strange and mysteries as he just pops in whenever he desires and can also fade away. We see this when Coraline was apologizing from her wrong doings to the cat in which he slowly forgives her but in like a mysterious way as there was one part where he disappeared then appeared once again.

What am I learning?
I am learning about character strengths.
How does this work show my learning?
by picking 2 and making a short summary of what I think how it was portrayed in the film.
What am I wondering as result of my work?
Was there a scene that describes the word 'despair'

Science : Human Digestion

Digestive System
The digestive system is a set of organs, that work together to process complex food like starch into simple molecules your body needs.

Summary
First the glands in the mouth anticipate make saliva before even eating. the system is done in three primary processes: mixing food, moving food and using chemicals to break down the food. by using
specific parts for some cases whilst the others do theirs.
Functions of each parts
Salivary Glands
Produce saliva to lubricate the food to the oeseopahgus.
Oesepahgus
is a passage way for  foods and liquids that have been swallowed into pharynx to reach the stomach.
Liver
is to filter the blood coming from the digestive tract.
Gall bladder
is to store and concentrate bile.
Stomach
secretes acid and enzymes that digest food.
Bile Duct
is to carry bile from the gall bladder and empty it into the upper part of the duodenum.
Large Intestine
is to absorb water from the remnants of indigestible food matter.
Small Intestine
is where 90% of the digestion and absorption food occurs.
Duodenum
it receives partially digested food known as 'chymes' from the stomach.
Pancreas
converts food into fuel for the body's cell.
Appendix
acts as a store house for good bacteria.
Rectum
acts as a storage site for poop or feces.
Anus
It where the contents are liquid, gas or solid.

Symbols = English

What am I learning? I am learning about symbols.
How does this work show my learning? by making paragraph about symbols
What am I wondering as the result of this learning? How did the director come up with these cool ideas.

The Key
Pictures = references
Image result for Coraline the keyImage result for Coraline the door

In Coraline, A point of view shot about the black key was used precisely. For instance Selick used a point of view shot to portray the black key when coraline found the door. This shows us the capability of the black key as it can open the strange small door as the other keys would not. The director did this to make the key look like a plot device, as the person who wields it can cross dimensions and such. Coinciding with this, as Coraline goes into a deep slumber a strange rat suddenly started to attract the attention of Coraline, thus she followed the rat which leads to the strange door. This reminds the second time Coraline approaches the secret door as the situation was the same but Coraline was more eager to into the other world considering how wonderful it was there.

The Button Eyes
Pictures = references
Image result for Coraline buttonImage result for Coraline button
But that was not the end of the fascinating mysteries that the film Coraline holds. A high angle shot was used to display the buttons. For instance when the director used a high angle shot to exhibit the button when the other mother gave Coraline her own black button eyes. This helped me see that the other mother had intentions to corrupt Coraline and gradually devour her soul as everything that lives in the other world has the button eyes. Henry did this to make us examine the button eyes as they look empty and disturbing as the normal features of a normal person's eyes or body wouldn't apply to the button. Coinciding with this. Coraline decline the offer of having the eyes thus the other mother starts to show her true colors.  The reminds me the time when the other father was being painfully manipulated somehow but shows no sign of pain.
