Passion Project Progress

 In Wananga, we have been working on making a planned schedule for our individual or group passion projects. For my group 5 people working on our own manga/comic. We have been constantly adding details and more information. Ou r passion project is Creating a manga about our daily life in school. We have chosen this because we want to share our story with others. There are five of us making a manga script about our daily life in school. We will be making this manga in paper-like 3a paper and every single person has to do one thing, what I'm doing is making the template and the writing, the other two will be making a story of the manga and the last person will be practicing the drawing stuff. We will be making this project in the DVC room because I need to do the template of the boxes of the drawing. The material we need is paper, then we need a ruler and a pen.

So far we have managed to start on our introduction a starting phase for our comic. We have done a few parts of our first chapter and we are starting to draw it scene by scene. We assigned every single member of our group their own specific jobs or tasks to do while making the comic. 

Matariki Reflection Post

Matariki is a celebration time of the year where the harvest from seasons is plentiful and the before coming of Winter. Matariki has a cluster of about 9 stars in total including the parents and the children. It is also important for the Maori Culture as this is their way of restarting their Maori calendar. Matariki was used to determine the harvests each year dictating if it was good enough to harvest just before Winter. Matariki lasts about 3 days and is celebrated both in North Island and South Island in New Zealand. It could be perceived as the Maori New Year. It has some significant influence in agriculture in relevance to the Maori culture.

Reflection Post: Week 5

For my reflection post this week I will be stating about a new programme where I and my year level cohort [year 11] are put in this session called 'Mates and Dates' In order to accomplish much more relationships with friends or romantic partners.

For the first session that I was part of. To me personally, it was alright despite the kind of topic that was given to us to answer, but they do tell about the things the do matter in relationships either it be for friends or partners.

Reflection Week 5 Term 2

 For every Friday in Wananga, the class has to do a reflection time to reflect on what they have done during the week. For my reflection, I choose to reflect on my school work and my progress in NCEA Level 1

I am doing just fine in my studies, but sometimes I do struggle to comprehend the knowledge of what my teachers are trying to pass on to me. I struggle to understand some subjects like Maths and DVC. But I don't plan on giving up but showing some resilience and push on and do the best I can do even if it is not much. Learning is such a valuable life lesson to be taught to everyone growing up.

Pink Shirt Day :3

 Today is Pink Shirt Day 21/5/21. Pink shirt day symbolizes anti-bullying across the world. People wear pink shirts or something that has pink on it. It originally in Canada. It is also a campaign to celebrate diversity and equality. Places like New Zealand Do this to support the idea of Anti-bullying or trying to make the country a better place. Activities are also held during this event to commemorate anti-bullying.

In wananga, we are starting a new topic for this week titled "Culture Identity"

We were tasked to make a DLO about out culture and show pictures about our culture. 

Self-Esteem and Poetry

Self-Esteem

In the span of over a few days in wananga, we were individually thinking about our self-esteem in us. We did a couple of personality tests. To see what traits do we have as an individual and possibly what kind of person we are?

In addition, along with finding and learning our self-esteem, we also learned about poetry. Every morning in form, in wananga it exposed us to a couple of poetry exemplars. Poetry that has in-depth meaning behind its words.
