Is Deer Culling good or bad?

Culling the population of deers comes with pros and cons. Controlling the number of deers allowed to live in a long term period may affect the plantation in the environment. Pests like wild deers are normally being allowed to reproduce yearly or in a long term period of time before the hunters that have been given license can be given the right to exterminate them. It can also allow the hunters to exercise while hunting them as they run around chasing deers can help them enhance their stamina. deer hunting has been around for 350,000 years. Artifacts found in Germany and France have paintings or carvings about humans years ago hunting deer.

In comparison, if deers are left to their own business they may end up overpopulated and they may start overgrazing food sources they normally eat. In my own way of viewing, I guess it helps people adapt to harsh living conditions like hunting wild animals for survival in case of emergency. 

Accurately, around 1.7 million is the current population of deer around New Zealand whilst around 54,000 are normally being diminished each year. Deer can populate quite fast so they may be a chance that the normal reproduction rate of deer each year may vary. As deer don't have that many predators that hunt them it enables them to repopulate much faster than other pests in New Zealand.

Managing the population of deer is to ensure that we can have a healthy and balanced environment. it can also help us reduce the potential chances of acquiring diseases from deer. Car incidents that relate to deer can also be reduced if their numbers are kept on a sustainable rate. Therefore I

Are students addicted to their cellphones?, If so, is that a problem?it majorly depends on the behaviour and how the student perceive themselves with their own cell phones. It can vary or change on how the student acts on about the topic of phones. 

Copper Coin Experiment

-Clean coin in salt + vinegar solution.

-put 50 ml of 2molL NaOH into a beaker.

-heat on bunsen burner until NEARLY boiling - Stir as getting >  then take off the heat.

-Add a spatula of zinc powder.

-Heat lightly for 3 min, with the coin in - Stir as heating

-Take the coin out with tongs

-Rinse coin under water to remove chunks of zinc.

-Wave coin in the blue flame using tongs

Observations

the coin started off with the color of copper. After putting 50ml of 2molL⁻1 Nat OH into a beaker. we heated it lightly to the point where it was NEARLY boiling, whilst stirring. We added a spatula of zinc powder, heated it up again for a couple of mins with the coin in while stirring. It turned out to be the color silver. We took it out and rinsed it underwater to see if there are still remnants of zinc remaining. Lastly, using the tongs we waved it on top of the blue flame then it turned to gold.

Acid Rain - Ex-per-e-ment

What is Acid Rain?
Acid rain is made of certain types of gases that turn acidic when it comes into contact with air or wind
How does it from?
it starts off from some facilities that normally produce smokes for example buildings like nuclear power plants. Then following up the rain cycle, it vaporizes towards the ground or environment such as forests and natural areas. 
Why does acid rain matter?
it matters because of its corrosive and devastating effects on the environment and the living beings that dwell in it. It also affects the ocean as the acidic rain pours down to the sea it could make it a lot less safe for the fishes to live in.

Method
1. Set up the Petri dish
2. Add a few drops of water to these
3. Add 1 spatula of sodium sulfide to weigh boat.
- take starting photo
4. add 5 drops of sulfuric acid and quickly put the lid on
5. observe and check the results.

Observation
-The blue litmus paper turned red which makes it acidic
-The Universal Indicator and bromothymol Blue liquid turned yellow - not sure if we did it right

- Bromothymol Blue liquid started to change color into light yellowish color
- The calcium carbonate to start to be in lumps
- The leaf starts to lose its color from its original state/color.
