Pink Shirt Day :3

 Today is Pink Shirt Day 21/5/21. Pink shirt day symbolizes anti-bullying across the world. People wear pink shirts or something that has pink on it. It originally in Canada. It is also a campaign to celebrate diversity and equality. Places like New Zealand Do this to support the idea of Anti-bullying or trying to make the country a better place. Activities are also held during this event to commemorate anti-bullying.

ESOl 2021 Goals

• to achieve all of the allocated amounts of credits allowed in ESOL to help pass NCEA Level 1
• personally, being able to be responsible and to overcome my fear of not passing 
• to improve my vocabulary, speech, reading, and writing skills in ESOL

Visual Language : Camera Shots

 What and how are we learning?

In full English class, we have been exploring the topic of visual text. The purpose of the specific camera shots used in film and its meaning behind it.

Why are we learning it?

Personally, in my opinion, is to learn more about it and being able to understand the scenes or shots reflected in movies and to know the purpose of the shots and visual texts.

How did it go?

Genuinely speaking, I was a bit lazy at times and I felt crushed by the amount of work to do in the limited time we were given to do the task. But I have done what I can do to my highest standard, completed most of what I can do to show my learning progress about the visual text.

Culture

 

In wananga, we are starting a new topic for this week titled "Culture Identity"

We were tasked to make a DLO about out culture and show pictures about our culture. 

Point of View

What and how are we learning?

We are learning multiple film techniques and camera angles that are used in films.

Why are we learning it?

To further enhance our knowledge about film and visual language study.

How did it go?

At first, I got caught up in a bit of procrastination and I was a bit lost on what to do, but I still managed to get some work done.

Self-Esteem and Poetry

Self-Esteem

In the span of over a few days in wananga, we were individually thinking about our self-esteem in us. We did a couple of personality tests. To see what traits do we have as an individual and possibly what kind of person we are?

In addition, along with finding and learning our self-esteem, we also learned about poetry. Every morning in form, in wananga it exposed us to a couple of poetry exemplars. Poetry that has in-depth meaning behind its words.

River Blog Entry

The novel ''The River'' is a book that is not really my preferred book to read, but vice versa, it is also a book I am fine reading. The book itself showcases a realistic point of view of what it might be like to survive out in the wild. I like the unique words that it has and I seem to encounter words I have never known or heard of before, which increases my vocabulary. So far I don't have any dislikes of the novel.

The book itself is easy to understand and empathize what the author is trying to convey out in the book about surviving in the woods again

Preferences

• I like how we sometimes take a turn in reading the book so that we can hear everyone's reading capability and voices
• I like how we talk about things from the novel to remember our past knowledge about the book
• I like how we do fun activities that sometimes relate to what we in class.

The parallel learning of essay structure to me is a decent practice again about how to make essays. but I am used to writing essays in different formats such as creative, recount, and so on. It helps me regain some of my knowledge how to properly build up an essay in the right order 

I prefer we do this type of learning in a fun activity to Kahoot.
